Part of the back of a well-laid out home, this private guest room with its own exterior entrance needed a touch of artistry to instantly make guests feel special. Part short-term, part long term, the goal is to ensure anyone staying over is comfortable and spoiled with all amenities.
Many custom finishes make up this space, which was intended as luxurious, friendly and somewhat whimsical. The expansive vintage mirror collection was gathered by us over time, and arranged to accommodate an unusual mix of finish detail and individual style. It instantly makes anyone entering smile and provides the very practical added benefit of allowing for lots of full-length mirror options when you need them.
Hand-painted walls are a nod to the engaging tempo of the 1980s, worthy of warmth and intrinsic color depth, yielding to a cozy environment to lounge. Once we added gorgeously scaled artwork, graphic window treatments, plenty of great reading options and extra plush and luxurious bedding, this short-term visitor is always ready to stay.
I love the hand-leafed silver crescent-shaped chest, the extra-large Nordic sheepskin, the reverse painted mirror and well-paired hand-blown table lamps mixed in.
